The world's first Journalistic Evaluation!
In mid-2018 we executed the mid-term review of the Strategic Partnership of the Fair Wear Foundation, FNV, CNV and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This partnership focuses on transforming the global textile chain, making it more sustainable.
This assignment gave us the opportunity to use for the first time the narrative/journalistic evaluation methodology that we developed. In addition to regular evaluation techniques (semi-structured interviews, capacity assessments, desk research) we used journalistic techniques: portraits, reports, interviews. Much more than in 'regular' evaluation reports, a journalistic evaluation sketches the context in which a programme is developed. We let the people involved explain what they encounter in their work: obstacles, successes, setbacks and victories. The experiences of those involved give background to the results of the programme. This allows more profound conclusions and recommendations.
In this mid-term review we joined forces with Theo van Koolwijk (Warner Strategy & Fundraising), Anne Manschot (Enact) and Liesbeth Unger (Human Rights at Work).
